The unit you have been paying for since the move

Most storage units start as a few months between homes and turn into years of monthly rent on things nobody has looked at. When you finally decide to let it go, the hard part is not the decision. It is renting a truck, finding help, hauling it all somewhere, and still getting the unit swept before move-out.

That is the part we handle. Dany and his crew meet you at the facility, empty the unit, take everything away and leave it broom-clean so you can turn in the key.

What we pull out of storage units

Anything that fits through a roll-up door, we can carry. Typical loads look like this:

  • Furniture: sofas, bed frames, mattresses, dressers, tables, desks
  • Boxes and plastic bins, sealed or open
  • Appliances, TVs and old electronics
  • Business stock, old display fixtures and office furniture
  • Holiday decorations, sports gear and tools
  • Rugs, lamps, mirrors and framed art you no longer want

What sets the price on a storage unit

Storage units are easy to price from one photo taken from the doorway with the door all the way up. Add a second photo from the side if things are stacked deep. Dany replies with one flat price that covers labor, loading, hauling and disposal.

Unit size matters, but how full it is matters more. A large unit with a few pieces of furniture can cost less than a small one packed to the ceiling. Heavy items like gun safes, pianos and exercise machines add to the price. So does the facility layout: a drive-up unit on the ground floor is quicker than an indoor unit on the third floor at the far end of a long hallway.

You pay after the unit is empty. If the job comes to $1,000 or more, Dany may ask for a 50% deposit, and he tells you that when he quotes.

Facility rules in Broward and Miami-Dade

Every storage facility has its own rules, so check them before the day. The usual ones: gate access hours, whether your gate code lets a second vehicle in, where trucks can park while loading, and whether the facility wants proof of insurance from outside crews. Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability insurance.

Most facilities do not let you leave trash in their own bins or in the hallway, and some charge a fee if junk is left behind. We take everything with us. If you plan to close out the unit the same day, ask the office what they need to see at move-out so you are not charged another month.

If you cannot be there

A lot of people with storage units have moved away. If you cannot make it to the facility, you can usually add Dany as an authorized person on the unit or give him the gate code and lock key, depending on the facility's rules. He sends photos when the unit is empty and swept, and you pay once you see them.

If there are a few things you want kept, tell Dany which boxes or pieces they are. We can set them aside, or move them to your new place for an extra charge he will quote up front.

Units left behind after a move, a sale or a loss

Storage cleanouts often come with a story. A family member passed away and nobody knew the unit existed until the bill showed up. A business closed and the old stock is still sitting there. A couple split up and neither one wants the furniture. Whatever the reason, Dany keeps it simple: one photo, one price, one visit.

If the unit belonged to someone else, like a parent, sort out access with the facility office first. Once you have the right to clear it, we do the heavy part. Dany has handled 250 jobs since 2025, he answers his own phone, and the crew treats what is in the unit with the same care whether it is staying or going. When we leave, there is nothing in the unit but a swept floor.

How the job runs, step by step

  1. Step 1

    Meet at the unit

Dany meets you or your contact at the facility, rolls up the door and confirms anything that is staying with you.

  2. Step 2

    Empty the unit

The crew carries everything from the unit straight to the truck parked in the loading lane, top shelves and back corners included.

  3. Step 3

    Haul to disposal

We take every load off the property to proper disposal, so nothing is left in the facility's bins or hallways.

  4. Step 4

    Sweep for move-out

The unit is swept so it is ready for the facility's move-out check. You get photos if you are not there.

Storage Unit Cleanouts: common questions

Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.

How much does a storage unit cleanout cost?

It depends on how full the unit is and what is in it. Send Dany a photo from the open door and he will give you one flat, all-in price.

Can you clean out my storage unit today?

Often, if you call early and the facility's gate hours allow it. Text a photo first so Dany can price it and plan the crew.

Do I have to be at the storage facility?

Not always. If the facility allows it, you can authorize Dany for access and he will send photos when the unit is empty.

Can you move some items to my house instead of hauling them all away?

Yes. Tell Dany which items are staying and he will include the delivery in the price, or quote it separately.

Will you leave anything in the facility trash?

No. Everything leaves with us and goes to proper disposal, and the unit is swept before we go.

When do I pay?

After the job, once the unit is empty. Jobs of $1,000 or more may take a 50% deposit, which Dany tells you up front.
