Junk removal in Virginia Gardens between quarterly bulk days
Junk removal, shed removal and cleanouts in Virginia Gardens. Text Dany a photo, get one flat price, and skip the three-month wait for bulk day.
01Bulk pickup in Virginia Gardens comes four times a year
Virginia Gardens runs its own garbage service. Miami-Dade lists it among the cities where service is provided by the local government, so the county's book-your-own-date bulky appointments do not apply here. Regular trash goes out Tuesdays and Fridays, and the county handles recycling every other Tuesday under an interlocal agreement.
Bulk is the Village's special bulk pickup, every 3 months on the 3rd Tuesday. The 2026 calendar showed April 21 and July 21. If your cleanout falls the week after a bulk Tuesday, the curb option is about three months away. Check the Village calendar or call Village Hall at 305-871-6104.
02What isn't published, and when to call a hauler
The Village pages do not state a bulk volume limit, a list of excluded items, or yard waste rules, and the county's bulky rules don't apply because the county does not collect garbage here. So ask before you build a big pile.
The other route is a private haul. Text (754) 249-1015 with a photo, get one flat price, and the crew carries everything from the backyard, the garage or the house straight onto the truck. Nothing waits at the curb for a quarterly date. Whether Village residents can use the county Trash and Recycling Centers is not confirmed, since those are for the county's own waste-fee customers.

03Sheds, yards and older lots
Virginia Gardens is small: about 0.29 square miles, roughly 2,300 residents and 959 homes, between Miami Springs and Miami International Airport. The Village was founded in 1947, grew out of farms, barns and horse stables, and describes itself as quiet, shady and tree-lined. Wikipedia notes the original estates ran up to 5 acres, and most homes now sit on lots of about 0.2 acres.
On suburban lots like these, a lot of the work is in the backyard and the garage. Rapid Haul does:
Before a shed comes down, empty what you want to keep, and tell Dany if anything inside is heavy, like a mower or an old freezer. The crew takes down the shed, loads the panels, framing and contents, and hauls it all. If the shed sits on a slab, say so in your photos; concrete removal is priced separately after a look.
- Shed and detached garage removal from $350
- Fence removal (removal only)
- Garage cleanouts from $300
- Furniture removal from $125 and appliance removal from $100
- Full house cleanouts from $1,000
04Permits here go through Village Hall, in person
The Village of Virginia Gardens Building Department processes, reviews, issues and inspects all permits in the Village, not the Miami-Dade County portal. Its page quotes the Florida Building Code requiring a permit to construct, alter, repair, move or demolish, and it says applications must be submitted in person at Village Hall, 6498 NW 38th Terrace, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Village permit checklist asks plans to show the septic tank, drain field and electric meter locations. So before a shed comes down or a tear-out starts, know where the septic system is. Your GC or you as the owner pull the permit. Rapid Haul does the non-structural tear-out and the haul, room tear-outs from $750, and does not pull permits.

05Price and timing from Hollywood
Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood, and Miami-Dade is one of its two main counties. Dany answers the phone himself. The flat price includes labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Same-day is often possible when you call early, Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM. Junk removal is paid after the job, and the crew sweeps up before they leave.
Most Virginia Gardens calls fit one of the starting prices above. If yours doesn't, Dany gives a flat price after a photo or a quick look, and that is the price you pay.
