The honest version: Palm Beach is by request

Rapid Haul's regular area is Broward and Miami-Dade, worked from Hollywood. Palm Beach County is outside that. Dany takes jobs here by request, when the job is worth the drive, and there are no same-day promises in this county.

In practice that means bigger work: a full house or estate cleanout, a room of non-structural tear-out, a condo gutted before a renovation, or a load of remodel debris. A single chair pickup in Palm Beach usually does not make sense for you or for us, and Dany will tell you so rather than quote a silly number. Each town below has its own page with its pickup rules, drop-off and permit office.

Who collects: SWA for county areas, the town everywhere else

The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) says it is only responsible for garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulk collection in unincorporated Palm Beach County, places like The Acreage. Those areas are served by franchise haulers by service area, under new seven-year SWA contracts that started October 1, 2026, and SWA notes collection delays in some communities. Bulk there is limited to three items on your scheduled bulk day, and yard waste to 6 cubic yards a week.

Every city and town arranges its own. Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach, Lake Worth Beach and North Palm Beach collect with their own crews. Others contract out: Waste Management in Delray Beach, Jupiter, Greenacres, Palm Beach Gardens and Tequesta; Waste Pro in Atlantis, Palm Springs and Royal Palm Beach; Coastal Waste & Recycling in Lantana and Loxahatchee Groves; FCC Environmental Services in Wellington; The Goode Companies in Riviera Beach; WastePro Services of Palm Beach in Ocean Ridge.

Limits differ town to town. West Palm Beach takes up to 3 bulk items a week from single-family homes. Riviera Beach takes three bulk items or two cubic yards per service and bills overflow to your utility bill. Boynton Beach allows 3 cubic yards a week of bulk but only one cubic yard of construction debris.

Towns that restrict construction debris and roll-offs

Several Palm Beach County towns control who hauls construction and demolition debris. Boca Raton's code requires debris from construction and demolition inside city limits to be collected by an authorized franchised hauler, and Rapid Haul is not on the city's list. Pahokee gives its contracted hauler the exclusive right to collect construction debris and provide roll-off service. Atlantis permits only Waste Pro dumpsters. Juno Beach, Jupiter Inlet Colony and South Palm Beach require Waste Management roll-offs or dumpsters for construction. Lake Park requires roll-offs from town-approved providers, and Wellington tells residents with a demolition or construction project to lease a roll-off from a hauler permitted in Wellington.

Rapid Haul does not claim to be an authorized hauler in any of them. Debris from permitted demolition there may have to go through the town's franchise or approved hauler, and Dany will tell you what applies before booking. Household cleanouts, furniture and appliances are a separate question, and he will answer that plainly too.

Permits: the Permit Center or your town's building department

For unincorporated Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building (PZB) Permit Center at 2300 N. Jog Road, West Palm Beach (561-233-5100) processes building permit applications. County policy says a demolition permit is required for any structure that a building permit would be required to construct.

Inside a city or town, the local building department issues them: Boca Raton's Building Division at 200 NW 2nd Ave, Delray Beach's Building Division at 100 NW 1st Ave, the Town of Ocean Ridge at 6450 N Ocean Blvd. Some towns contract the work out, and Gulf Stream's permits are issued by the Town of Highland Beach Building Department under an interlocal agreement.

Your GC or you as the owner pull the permit. Rapid Haul does not. The crew does non-structural tear-out only, never anything that holds up the house, and hauls the debris.

SWA drop-off sites, and who may use them

Palm Beach County waste has to go to SWA-designated facilities. Members of the public may haul waste directly to the Customer Convenience Drop-Off Center at the North County Landfill, 6330 N Jog Road, open Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 5 PM. SWA transfer stations, including Central County at 1810 Lantana Road, South County at 1901 SW 4th Ave in Delray Beach, North County at 14185 N Military Trail in Jupiter and West County at 1701 State Road 15 in Belle Glade, weigh vehicles on the way in and out to set tipping fees.

SWA's Home Chemical & Recycling Centers are for households only, no businesses, and take household hazardous waste at no cost to Palm Beach County residents. When Rapid Haul does the job, disposal is already in the price.
