Most Hillsboro Beach homes have no curbside bulk

Hillsboro Beach is one road, about 3 miles long and only about 900 feet across at its widest, between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic. Of roughly 2,389 homes in town, the Town counts 47 single-family homes and 88 townhouses on curbside service. Everything else is a condominium or a co-op, and those are not collected at the curb.

So if you live in one of the condo buildings, the Town's bulk truck is not part of your plan. Your building's own arrangements are, and so is a private hauler. Curbside homes: Fridays, 48 hours, and what's excluded

For the homes and townhouses that do get curbside service, the Town's hauler is Waste Pro. Garbage goes out Tuesday and Friday in 96-gallon carts, and bulk and yard waste go out on Fridays. Town Code says bulk items cannot go to the road more than 48 hours before collection, and there is no service on Saturday or Sunday.

The Town rebid its contract for 2026. The bid terms cap bulk at 6 cubic yards per pickup per home, with bigger pickups arranged through the Town (whether the signed contract kept that limit is not published). The same scope leaves building and demolition debris, contractor debris, heavy metal, sod, stone, tree roots, tree trunks and heavy limbs to private arrangements. Yard trimmings have to be bundled no longer than 5 feet.

Condo remodels, tear-outs and permits here

Permits come from the Town of Hillsboro Beach Building Department at 1210 Hillsboro Mile, staffed under contract by Calvin, Giordano & Associates, through the Community Core portal. Its forms include a Condo Remodel Submittal Checklist, an After Hours Construction Request Form and a Dock and Boatlift Checklist. Your GC or you as the owner pull the permit.

The Town's 2026 demolition checklist covers asbestos notification, FPL disconnect, a dust control method and, if the Building Official requires it, vibration and noise monitoring. On a strip of oceanfront condos, that matters. Rapid Haul works on the non-structural side: carpet and tile pulled to the slab, kitchen cabinets, vanities and drywall, then the haul. Room tear-outs start at $750, and debris left by your remodeler starts at $200.

How a Hillsboro Beach job is priced

No county drop-off for Hillsboro Beach

Hillsboro Beach is not on Broward County's participating lists for bulk, yard waste or household hazardous waste at the county drop-off centers. The Town says hazardous waste service comes through Waste Pro. A public drop-off site for Town residents is not published, so for anything big, the realistic choices are your building, the Town's hauler, or a private haul. Junk removal is paid after the job.

Before the crew comes, tell your building manager the date, book the service elevator if your building has one, and send Dany anything the association requires. That keeps the day short and the hallway clear.
