Junk removal across Broward County, from Dany's Hollywood base
Junk removal, cleanouts, non-structural tear-out and debris hauling across Broward County. Text Dany a photo for one flat, all-in price, often same day.
01Every Broward city runs its own trash pickup
Broward County does not run one pickup for everyone. Each city sets its own service. Some use their own crews: Deerfield Beach calls itself the sole provider of curbside garbage service, Hallandale Beach runs a City Sanitation Division, and Oakland Park uses its Public Works Solid Waste Division. Most contract it out. WM serves Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Parkland and Dania Beach. Coastal Waste & Recycling serves Davie, Coral Springs and Wilton Manors. Republic Services serves Weston, Coconut Creek and Margate. Waste Pro serves Miramar and Hillsboro Beach. Pembroke Pines splits it: Waste Pro for garbage, Eastern Waste Systems for bulk and yard waste.
So the bulk limit changes when you cross a city line. Per each city: Margate limits bulk to three cubic yards a week, Coral Springs to 6 cubic yards (only 2 of them construction debris), Pembroke Pines to 10 cubic yards per pickup, Fort Lauderdale to one monthly pile no larger than 10 cubic yards, and Davie and Plantation to 15 cubic yards. Weston collects bulk only four times a year, in January, April, July and October. Hollywood, Dany's home city, collects bulk once a month and caps it at 6 cubic yards.
A hauler makes sense when the pile is bigger than your city's limit, when the next bulk day is weeks away, or when the material is something the curb refuses, like remodel debris.
02Cities that control who hauls construction debris
Several Broward cities restrict who may haul construction and demolition debris or supply roll-offs. Pembroke Pines says it has an exclusive franchise agreement with Waste Pro for the collection of all construction and demolition debris. Coconut Creek names Republic as the exclusive provider of roll-off dumpsters. Deerfield Beach lists roll-off service among the services it provides as sole provider. Southwest Ranches requires property owners to use the town's franchise service provider for all solid waste. Hollywood's code requires a permit from the Director of Public Works to collect construction and demolition material in the city.
Rapid Haul does not claim to be an authorized or franchise hauler in any of those cities, and Dany will not tell you otherwise. Debris from permitted demolition in those cities may have to go through the city's franchise hauler. Before he books a tear-out, Dany looks at your scope and your address and tells you what applies. Furniture, appliance and household cleanouts are a different matter, and he will say so plainly.

03Permits: your city first, the county behind it
Building permits in Broward come from the city where the property sits: Pembroke Pines' Building Department at 601 City Center Way, Davie's Building Division at 8800 SW 36th St, Coral Springs' Building Department at 9500 W Sample Rd, Weston's Building Code Services Department, and so on. Some cities contract the work out; Deerfield Beach, Southwest Ranches and West Park use CAP Government. For unincorporated Broward and the cities it contracts with, such as Lazy Lake, it is the Broward County Building Code Division.
The county still shows up on demolition paperwork. Margate requires Broward County environmental approval for demolition, Sunrise sends demolition plans through Broward County ePermits OneStop when needed, and Fort Lauderdale and Davie ask for an asbestos statement or notice to the county on their demolition checklists.
Your GC or you as the owner pull the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Dany's crew does non-structural tear-out only (kitchens, baths, flooring, drywall, decks, sheds), never anything that holds up the house, and hauls the debris.
04Broward County drop-off centers, and who may use them
Broward County runs three Residential Drop-Off Centers for bulk and yard waste: North at 2780 N. Powerline Rd in Pompano Beach, Central at 5490 Reese Rd in Davie, and South at 5601 W. Hallandale Beach Blvd in West Park. They are open Saturdays only, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and may be used up to four times a month.
They are only for residents of the Broward Municipal Services District, Dania Beach, Davie, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Lazy Lake, Oakland Park, Pembroke Park, Weston and West Park. Bring photo ID and a document showing your address. The county turns away commercial vehicles, anything larger than a 1-ton pickup, and trailers longer than 8 feet, and does not take garbage, propane tanks or tires. Everyone else is told to contact their own city's Public Works Department. Cooper City says its residents may not use any Broward County disposal locations.
For construction debris, the Broward County Landfill at 7101 SW 205th Ave in Southwest Ranches accepts bulk, yard trash and C&D that originate in Broward, but no household garbage or hazardous waste.

Broward County: common questions
Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.
Can anyone in Broward use the county drop-off centers?
No. Only residents of the Broward Municipal Services District, Dania Beach, Davie, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Lazy Lake, Oakland Park, Pembroke Park, Weston and West Park, with ID and proof of address.
Why does my bulk limit differ from my friend's in the next city?
Each Broward city sets its own service. Margate allows three cubic yards a week; Davie and Plantation allow 15 cubic yards a month.
Can you haul demolition debris in Pembroke Pines?
Pembroke Pines has an exclusive franchise with Waste Pro for construction and demolition debris, and Rapid Haul is not that hauler. Dany will tell you what applies before booking.
Who issues permits in unincorporated Broward?
The Broward County Building Code Division. Inside a city, it is that city's building department. Your GC or you as the owner pull it.
Do you come same day in Broward?
Often, when you call early. Text photos to (754) 249-1015 and Dany will tell you when the crew can be there.
