Davie's bulk day and the garage you want empty now

Coastal Waste & Recycling collects for the Town of Davie, and curbside homes get bulk pickup once a month. You look up your date on the Town's Bulk Trash Locator. Bulk can go out starting the Sunday before, it gets picked up anytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on your date, and the Town says it should not exceed 15 cubic yards. Extra bulk is billed per yard plus a franchise fee.

That is a decent system if you clear a garage a corner at a time. If you want the whole thing out this week, you either wait for your date or start hauling yourself. Dany's crew loads from the garage to the truck the day you book, often the same day when you call early, and nothing sits by the road waiting for Coastal.

The Reese Road drop-off, and when it is not worth the trip

Davie is one of the cities whose residents can use Broward County's Central Residential Drop-Off Center at 5490 Reese Road, in Davie itself. It is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., it can be used up to four times a month, and it takes bulk such as furniture, appliances and yard waste. The County's North and South centers, in Pompano Beach and West Park, are also open to participating residents.

The limits are real, though. You need two proofs of residency: a government photo ID and a document with your Davie address, like a tax bill, TRIM notice, voter registration or utility bill. The center does not take garbage, propane tanks or tires. And vehicles larger than a 1-ton pickup, truck beds longer than 8 feet, commercial vehicles and trailers longer than 8 feet are turned away. A packed two-car garage is a lot of Saturday trips in a pickup.

If you do put things out for bulk, the Town has conditions for a few garage regulars:

• Old fridges, freezers and AC units: Freon removed by a certified hazardous waste dealer first
• Wire and cable: rolled and tied
• Mirrors and glass: in a rigid container and taped
• Rock, gravel, tile and leftover roofing: in a hard-bottom container
• Tires and propane tanks: refused at the county drop-off center

Garages, storage units and Davie homes

Davie is a town of family households: about 2.74 people per household and 67.1% of homes owner-occupied (Census, 2020 to 2024). The western part of town is more rural, with open space tracts and equestrian trails, so a garage cleanout here can mean a suburban two-car garage or a bigger lot with gear spread across the property. Either way, the crew takes what you point at and leaves the rest.

Not every cleanout is a garage. One of Dany's own jobs tagged Davie was a garage and storage clean-out, and the footage shows a self-storage unit being emptied. What a Davie garage cleanout costs

Garage cleanouts start at $300 for a light load along one wall. A packed one or two-car garage costs more; storage units get a flat price after photos. Text a wide photo from the door and close-ups of heavy things, like a chest freezer, a weight bench or leftover tile, to (754) 249-1015. Dany sends one flat price for the crew, loading, hauling and disposal, and you pay after the job.
