Hot tub removal in Pembroke Pines, the one item bulk pickup names as a no
Hot tub removal in Pembroke Pines for one flat price after a photo. The crew cuts it down if needed, carries it out of the backyard and hauls it off.
01Pembroke Pines bulk pickup does not take hot tubs
Most cities leave you guessing about a hot tub. Pembroke Pines does not. Its bulk and yard waste page lists hot tubs, along with boats, as oversized or overweight items that are not collected with regular bulk. Eastern Waste Systems, the city's bulk hauler, quotes a separate specialized pickup for those.
So the choice for an old spa in Pembroke Pines is a specialized pickup quoted by EWS, or a crew that takes it from where it sits. Either way, someone has to get it out of the backyard. That is the hard part: draining it, disconnecting it, cutting it into pieces and carrying a heavy shell through the side yard. Rapid Haul does all of that in one visit, from the patio to disposal.
There is no county drop-off shortcut either. Pembroke Pines is not on Broward County's list of participating cities for the county bulk and yard drop-off centers.
02If the tub sits in a deck
A free-standing tub on a concrete pad is a straightforward removal. A tub built into a wood deck is different, because taking the deck out is tear-out work, and Pembroke Pines restricts who hauls construction and demolition debris. The City says Waste Pro holds an exclusive franchise for it and that third-party haulers are not permitted.
So if your project includes tearing out a deck, especially a permitted one, that debris may have to go through Waste Pro. Rapid Haul is not the city's franchise hauler. Dany will look at your setup and tell you plainly what applies before booking, so there are no surprises on the day.

03Before removal day: power, water and chemicals
Most tubs are hardwired to the house. Rapid Haul does no electrical work, so have an electrician shut off the circuit and disconnect the tub first. If it is still wired when the crew arrives, they cannot start. Not sure how yours is wired? Text Dany a photo of the equipment panel.
Drain the tub the day before so the inside can dry a bit. The leftover spa chemicals in the cabinet count as hazardous waste, which city bulk does not collect. Pembroke Pines takes it at quarterly residents-only events at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, 13975 Pembroke Road, with proof of residency.
If the tub sits inside a screened enclosure, tell Dany whether a panel or screen door can come off for the carry. That changes how the crew cuts the shell.
04What the crew removes
One flat price covers the full job:
- Shell, cabinet, frame and cover
- Steps and loose surround panels
- Pumps, heaters and other parts in the cabinet
- Cutting on site when it won't fit through the gate
- Loading, hauling, disposal and a sweep of the pad

05How Dany prices a Pembroke Pines hot tub
Hot tubs do not have one sticker price, because the yard changes the job. Send photos of the tub, the gate it has to pass through and the path to where a truck can park. A small tub on a patio by a wide gate is quick. A large spa behind a screened enclosure with a narrow side yard takes longer. Dany sends one flat price covering labor, cutting, loading, hauling and disposal.
You pay after the job. If the total reaches $1,000 or more, Dany may ask for a 50% deposit and tells you with the quote. Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood, next door, and Pembroke Pines is one of Dany's top cities. Text (754) 249-1015, Monday to Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM.

Pembroke Pines: common questions
Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.
Will Pembroke Pines bulk pickup take my old hot tub?
No. The City lists hot tubs as oversized or overweight items that are not collected in regular bulk. EWS quotes a separate specialized pickup, or Rapid Haul removes it from the backyard.
Do you take out the deck around the tub too?
Deck tear-out debris falls under Pembroke Pines' construction and demolition rules, where the City says Waste Pro has an exclusive franchise. That debris may have to go through Waste Pro. Dany tells you what applies before booking.
Who disconnects the electrical?
Your electrician, before removal day. Rapid Haul does no electrical work.
How much is hot tub removal in Pembroke Pines?
A flat price after a photo. Size, the gate, steps and the distance to the truck set the number. Paid after the job.
Do I need to drain the hot tub first?
Yes. Drain it the day before removal. A full tub holds hundreds of gallons, and the crew cannot cut or carry it until it is empty. If it has sat full for a long time, tell Dany, since a soaked cover and old water add weight.
