Junk removal in Greenacres, for remodels and appliances past the curb limit

01What Greenacres curbside pickup takes, and its limits
Greenacres contracts its collection and recycling to Waste Management, and Public Works answers questions at 561-642-2071. All solid waste service runs 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Bulk is collected one day a week, and the day depends on your neighborhood.
The rules are specific. Furniture and appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, washers and dryers must have the doors removed and sit next to the garbage on pickup day. Everything goes within 6 feet of the road, not over meters or under low wires, and not within 4 feet of mailboxes, hydrants or signs.
The city also collects small amounts of construction debris, but only from minor home maintenance and repair, and the city limits it to "no more than four (4) cubic yards per collection per dwelling unit." That covers drywall, lumber, fencing, roofing material, concrete blocks and paneling. Carpet must be cut into 4-foot lengths, rolled and kept under 50 pounds. Anything that doesn't conform goes to a private hauler or to SWA.
02Remodels, permits and debris in Greenacres
Permits here come from the City of Greenacres Building Division at 5800 Melaleuca Lane, 561-642-2052, not from the county. Applications are accepted electronically, and the city's forms include a demolition package. Your GC or you as the owner pull the permit. Rapid Haul does not.
A full kitchen or bathroom remodel produces far more than the city's 4 cubic yard minor-repair limit. Rapid Haul does the non-structural tear-out (cabinets, counters, tile, flooring, fixtures, interior partition walls) and hauls the debris to an SWA facility. Parts of the city's solid waste page still name a franchise hauler for construction and demolition service, so debris from permitted demolition may have to go through that franchise. Dany will tell you what applies before you book.

03Greenacres homes, condos and mobile homes
Greenacres was platted beginning in 1923 by L. C. Swain as a working-class community, incorporated as Greenacres City in 1926 and renamed in 1990. It now has about 43,990 people and 17,927 housing units. Two-thirds of homes (66.5%) are owner-occupied, and the median owner-occupied value is $291,000.
The city's pickup schedule mixes single-family curbside streets with condo and apartment complexes and a mobile home park. Neighborhoods on that schedule include Original Greenacres, Buttonwood, Lake Worth Hills, Pickwick Park, Nautica Isles, Pine Ridge, Heather Estates and the Lago Palma Mobile Home Park. Appliance swaps, furniture moves and older-home remodels are the kind of jobs that fit here.
04How Rapid Haul works in Greenacres
Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood and serves Palm Beach County by request, when the job is worth the drive. Text a photo to (754) 249-1015 and Dany will say honestly whether it makes sense, then give you one flat price covering labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Palm Beach County jobs are scheduled ahead, not same-day.
Bigger jobs, like a garage of appliances and furniture, a full house or a remodel tear-out, are the ones most likely to be worth the drive. Junk removal is paid after the job, and jobs of $1,000 and over take a 50% deposit.

05Yard and land-clearing debris
Greenacres collects routine single-family yard waste only. Paid landscapers and tree firms must take their own waste the same day, and stumps, trunks and logs are not required to be collected. The city notes that transfer stations cannot accept land-clearing debris such as stumps, dirt, sod and mulch. If you live in an HOA, the city tells you to check with your board. Send Dany a photo of what you have and he will tell you what he can take.
