Town bulk pickup, by which side of Forest Hill you live on

Lake Clarke Shores contracts with WM for garbage, trash, bulk items, recycling and vegetation inside Town limits. Your schedule depends on Forest Hill Boulevard. South of it, vegetation and bulk go out Monday, garbage Tuesday, and recycling and garbage Friday. North of it, Monday is small vegetation only, Tuesday is large vegetation, bulk, recycling and garbage, and Friday is garbage.

Bulk can go in the swale no earlier than 24 hours before collection. A July 2026 Town notice widened the vegetation window to 72 hours but left the 24-hour bulk rule as it was. Large vegetation must be no more than 5 feet long or 50 pounds; anything bigger needs a paid special collection from WM. Garbage must be in Town-issued carts, and hazardous waste is not picked up.

The Town enforces this. Its Operation Lawn and Order cites the swale rules and landscaper rules, with fines of $125, $250, $400 and $500. Exact limits on bulk item types or counts are not published.

Docks, sheds and the Town's demolition checklist

Permits come from the Town of Lake Clarke Shores Building Department at Town Hall, 1701 Barbados Road, (561) 964-1515, through the MGO electronic portal; paper is not accepted. The Town says a permit must be posted before any construction work, including sheds, fences, driveways, bulkheads and docks, and starting without one costs four times the standard fee. Town code also requires a permit from the building official to demolish a building or structure.

The demolition checklist is detailed: proof that water, electric and gas are shut off, a termite letter from a pest control company, a dust control plan, and a notice mailed to every parcel within 300 feet, 14 to 30 days before the demo. That sets your earliest start date. Docks and seawalls on Lake Worth Drainage District or SFWMD waterways need their permits too. Your general contractor, or you as the owner, pulls all of it. Rapid Haul does not.

Dany's part is the non-structural tear-out and the haul: dock boards and framing, wood decks from $550, sheds from $350, fences and room demo from $750. Never anything that holds up the house. And since Town code makes contractors responsible for hauling what they generate, tear-out debris never waits for WM.

A lakeside bedroom community from the 1950s

Lake Clarke Shores incorporated on July 1, 1957, and grew up around Lake Clarke from the late 1940s and 1950s. It is mainly a bedroom community, with most businesses along Forest Hill Boulevard, and about 7.6% of the town is water. The 2020 Census counted 3,564 people, 1,478 housing units and 1,414 households. The owner-occupied rate is not published for a town this size, and the Town does not list named neighborhoods.

The Town's own permit list, with bulkheads, docks and seawalls on it, tells you what the waterfront lots hold. The jobs that fit are an aging dock or deck, a shed, a garage, and the contents of a home.

How Palm Beach County jobs are priced and booked

Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood, and Dany's main counties are Broward and Miami-Dade. Lake Clarke Shores jobs are by request, when the job is worth the drive: a dock or deck tear-out, a full cleanout, a load of remodel debris. No same-day promises here.

Dany answers himself, tells you straight whether he can take it, and sends one flat, all-in price covering labor, loading, hauling and disposal. Junk removal is paid after the job; jobs of $1,000 and over, mostly demolition, take a 50% deposit.

Dropping off hazardous items

WM will not take hazardous waste; the Town sends residents to the Solid Waste Authority at 561-697-2700. SWA's Home Chemical and Recycling Centers are free for county households. Two by address are the Central County Transfer Station and HCRC at 1810 Lantana Road in Lantana, and the Home Chemical and Recycling Center at 6161 N Jog Road in West Palm Beach.
