Junk removal in Cloud Lake, the bird sanctuary town by request

01

What Cloud Lake publishes about trash and bulk

Cloud Lake is a town, so the Solid Waste Authority does not collect here. The SWA's municipal list tells Cloud Lake residents to call Town Hall at 561-686-2815. The Town's budget carries a garbage and solid waste control services line, so collection is arranged by the Town, but the current hauler's name, the bulk schedule, size limits and refused items are not published on the Town's site. Ask Town Hall before you build a big pile.

Yard waste is the one thing the Town spells out. It coordinates yard cleanup to reduce fire risk and asks residents to have yard waste out for pickup on Tuesdays.

Town code also bars putting listed hazardous materials in household trash, including paints, pool chemicals and solvents. Those go to a Solid Waste Authority Home Chemical & Recycling Center, free for county households. Candidates by address are the center at 6161 N Jog Road in West Palm Beach and the Central County Transfer Station at 1810 Lantana Road in Lantana.

When a hauler makes sense in Cloud Lake

With the bulk rules unpublished, the safe move for anything bigger than a few items is a private haul: no guessing whether the truck will take it, no pile sitting by the road. Jobs that fit a town of a few streets: an old shed coming down, a yard cleared after trimming, a garage emptied or furniture swapped out.

Shed removal starts at $350, garage cleanouts at $300 and furniture removal at $125. Dany takes the shed apart, loads every panel and the junk inside it, and leaves the spot swept.

Permits go through Town Hall

The Town collects building permits and related fees, budgets for protective inspections, and tells the building community that impact fee schedules are available through its Building Department. Permit questions go to Town Hall at 100 Lang Road, (561) 686-2815, [email protected]. The Town does not publish which building official or firm reviews and inspects, so ask there before any interior tear-out or shed removal that needs a permit.

The GC or the property owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Dany does non-structural tear-out (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, sheds) and the haul.

A few streets west of I-95

The Town calls itself a small bird sanctuary city on the west side of West Palm Beach. It was platted in 1935, incorporated in 1948 and built largely by twin brothers Karl and Kenyon Riddle, and its name comes from the Seminole Chief Yaholoochee, The Cloud. The 2020 Census counted 134 people in 98 households.

It is bounded by Glen Ridge to the west and south, Southern Boulevard to the north and I-95 to the east, near Palm Beach International Airport. In 2026 the Town held a joint flood-risk workshop with Glen Ridge.

How pricing and scheduling work from Hollywood

Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood. Broward and Miami-Dade are the main service area, and Palm Beach County is by request, when the job is worth the drive. Dany does not promise same-day in Cloud Lake. Send photos of everything that needs to go to (754) 249-1015 and he will give you one flat, all-in price (labor, loading, hauling and disposal) and a date.

Junk removal is paid after the job. Jobs of $1,000 and over, mostly demolition, take a 50% deposit.
