Junk removal in South Palm Beach condos, by request
Condo cleanouts and junk removal in South Palm Beach. Palm Beach County is by request. Dany checks the town's Waste Management rule with you first, then gives one flat price.
01What Waste Management picks up in South Palm Beach
Waste Management holds the town's exclusive franchise. Townhouse, condominium and household garbage is collected on Mondays and Wednesdays, and recycling on Mondays. The number for questions is (561) 547-4000. Town Code Section 34-55 requires all owners and lessees to use the franchise collection services.
Special trash pickup is the town's version of bulk. It covers old appliances, water heaters, furniture, a maximum of two tires (off rims) per year, and miscellaneous items. Paint, motor oil, propane tanks, gas cans, corrosives and toxic materials are not picked up. The town says Waste Management may pick up construction debris for an additional fee. We did not find a published bulk day, so call Waste Management to schedule.
Vegetation goes in bags or garbage cans. Nothing over fifty pounds and no limbs longer than five feet, and garbage cannot be mixed with vegetation.
02Construction debris and the Waste Management rule
This is the rule that shapes every renovation here. The town's permit page says the town does not provide garbage service for construction debris, and contractors are required to arrange for dumpsters, and only from Waste Management.
Said plainly: debris from a permitted tear-out in South Palm Beach may have to go through Waste Management, the town's franchise hauler. Dany will tell you what applies to your job before you book. Because the town's franchise code covers solid waste collection broadly, he also confirms what he can take on an ordinary cleanout before he quotes it. He won't claim a way around the rule.

03Permits and association sign-off for condo work
The Town of South Palm Beach Building Department is at Town Hall, 3577 S. Ocean Blvd. (561-588-8889, press 1, or [email protected]), and permits run through the MGO portal. The town's building code requires a permit to demolish a building or structure.
Master permit applications must be signed by the homeowner, the general contractor and the HOA, POA, co-op or condo association representative. For condo or co-op units, the association or board must sign to acknowledge the work. Work is allowed Monday to Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., never on Sundays or federal holidays. Skipping the permit carries a penalty of four times the permit amount.
Your general contractor or you as the owner pulls the permit. Rapid Haul does not. Where the town's rules allow it, Dany's crew does non-structural tear-out and loading inside those work hours.
04A condominium town on one street
South Palm Beach is a barrier-island town between the Atlantic and the Lake Worth Lagoon, about five-eighths of a mile long along South Ocean Boulevard (A1A), its only street. It was incorporated in 1955 with several condominiums and four single-family homes platted, and many more condominiums went up in the early 1970s. In 2020 it had 1,471 people. The Town of Palm Beach is to the north, with Manalapan and the Town of Lantana's public beach to the south.
Almost everyone lives in a condo or townhouse, so the work here looks like this: clearing a unit after a sale or an estate, swapping out old furniture, and emptying a unit before a renovation crew starts.

05Where paint, propane and chemicals go
Waste Management does not take household chemicals, and there is no curbside hazardous waste collection. Drop-off is free for Palm Beach County residents. The closest Solid Waste Authority site by address is the Central County Transfer Station and Home Chemical and Recycling Center, 1810 Lantana Road in Lantana (unstaffed, Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 7 a.m. to noon). The staffed center is at 6161 N Jog Road in West Palm Beach. Anyone can also haul waste directly to SWA transfer stations, where loads are weighed for tipping fees.
06Pricing and scheduling from Hollywood
Rapid Haul is based in Hollywood and works Broward and Miami-Dade every day. Palm Beach County is by request, when the job is worth the drive. Dany will tell you whether the trip and the town's franchise rule work for your job, and if they do, you get one flat price covering labor, loading, hauling and disposal. No same-day promises here; you pick the day together.
Furniture removal starts at $125, appliance removal at $100 and full cleanouts at $1,000. Jobs of $1,000 and over take a 50% deposit. Rapid Haul carries $1M general liability insurance.

Something else on your mind? Call (754) 249-1015.
Will Waste Management take my old couch?
Furniture is part of the town's special trash pickup, along with appliances, water heaters and up to two off-rim tires a year. Call Waste Management at (561) 547-4000 to schedule.
Can I hire anyone to haul my renovation debris?
The town says contractors must arrange dumpsters only from Waste Management, and the town does not collect construction debris. Debris from permitted work may have to go through Waste Management. Ask Dany before you book and he'll tell you what applies.
Does my condo association have to sign my permit?
Yes. Master permit applications need the homeowner, the general contractor and the association representative. Condo and co-op boards must acknowledge the work.
